These are seeds for Honbeni Kintoki, a traditional vegetable from Kagawa. They are exceptionally delicious when simmered, with a natural sweetness.
Sowing period: Mid-May to August
(Not suitable for cultivation in cool regions)
Germination temperature: 15-20℃
Days to germination: Approximately 10 days at optimal temperature
Sowing method:
Make a groove about 5mm deep, sow the seeds, cover with about 1cm of soil, gently press down with your hand, and water carefully.
Until the sprouts emerge, be careful not to let the soil and seeds dry out, and manage by watering as needed.
To prevent drying, sprinkle rice hulls or straw on top, or cover with a sheet or shade cloth for moisture retention.
